The NFL season for the New York Jets is now here as they’ll travel to Detroit and take on the Lions in Game No. 1 of the preseason.
Getting away from the locker room drama should be a nice change of pace on Thursday night when the New York Jets open up their preseason schedule against the Detroit Lions.

Of course Geno Smith won’t be quarterbacking the squad tonight. Instead, it’ll 33-year old journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Last year for Houston, under first-year head coach Bill O’Brien, the Harvard graduate was workmanlike. In 12-games started he threw 17 touchdowns to just eight interceptions, throwing for 2,483 yards and posting a quarterback rating of 95.3.
If Todd Bowles receives that production in 2015, he’d do a handstand in the hallways of the Jets facility.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to be the guy…I’m really, really hoping Bryce Petty develops sooner than later. http://t.co/zPc8S4BLJY
