New York Mets

With ace Jacob deGrom on the mound, the New York Mets offense finally comes alive and plates seven runs against the first-place Nationals.

Once again – like has been all season long during the 2015 MLB seasonNew York Mets ace Jacob deGrom had to endure the weight of an entire organization on his shoulders.

And once again, the man came through.

deGrom only surrendered three hits and two earned runs while striking out eight in six innings pitched against the first-place Washington Nationals.

If deGrom was the constant reminder of deGrominance, then the Mets bats were the exception.

New York scored a wild (for them) seven runs against Nationals pitching tonight. Eric Campbell came in to pinch-hit for deGrom in the top of the seventh and delivered one of the bigger hits of the season for the Amazin’s.

His two-run single off Aaron Barrett was the nail in the coffin for starter Joe Ross as he took the loss (two earned runs, three total).

Jenrry Mejia, Bobby Parnell and Jeurys Familia pitched scoreless seventh, eighth and ninth innings respectively as the Mets tacked on four more runs in the 7-2 victory.
