Thanks to legal sports betting, you do not have to wait until Opening Day to bet on (or against) the Mets. Sportsbooks offer futures betting on the Mets to win the World Series, the NL Pennant, the NL East and more.
Not only can you wager on the team’s success (or lack thereof), but player success as well. At DraftKings Sportsbook, you can bet on player futures for the Mets’ upcoming campaign as well. From home run totals to NL Cy Young futures, the possibilities are endless. Let’s take a look.
NY Mets Odds Today
Mets Odds to Win the World Series
|Sportsbook||Mets World Series Odds|
|William Hill Sportsbook||+2000|
By no means are the Mets World Series favorites, but they are at least in the running. With odds ranging from +2000 to +2200, the Mets are in the top 10 on DraftKings Sportsbook as far as odds to win the World Series go. If the Mets can stay healthy, expect those odds to increase as the year goes on so +2200 is a solid value.
Mets Odds to win the National League Pennant
|Team||Odds to Win NL Pennant|
|Los Angeles Dodgers||+170|
|St. Louis Cardinals||+900|
|New York Mets||+1000|
The New York Mets are sixth in odds to win the National League, coming in at +1000. Being top six is solid for the Mets, but the fact that they are behind three division rivals in the Phillies, Nationals, and Braves is worrisome. If you believe the Mets will finish higher than fourth in the division, this is a solid value bet. The Mets’ pitching on paper should be better than some teams above them, but the offense will be the difference.
Mets Odds to win the NL East
|Team||Odds to Win NL Pennant|
|New York Mets||+300|
This is where it gets odd. Remember how the Mets were behind the Phillies in National League pennant odds? The Mets are in front of the Phillies here in odds to win the NL East, at +300 to the Phillies +325. The Braves are the favorites, but this is a four-team race entering the start of the season. The Mets certainly have the ability to win the East, but the Braves have some of the best young talent in all of baseball and a deep pitching staff.
Mets Win Totals
|New York Mets Win Totals (DK Sportsbook)|
|Over 85.5 (-124)||Under 85.5 (+100)|
With juice to the over, the betting public seems to like over 85.5 for the Mets. Last season, the Mets won 86 games, but that was their highest since 2016 when they won 87 games. With a rotation of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Marcus Stroman with Steven Matz and Rick Porcello to follow, the Mets are poised to make a run at the over. The worries will be if any starters miss extended time of the offense struggles. 86 games or more is a solid bet, but there is -124 juice.
To Make the Playoffs Odds
DraftKings Sportsbook has a fun prop that allows bettors to wager on whether or not a team makes the playoffs, regardless of how. Whether it be as a wild card team or division winner, the odds of the Mets making the playoffs are:
This seems directly tied into the win totals bet, but the Mets will need to win more than 85.5 games to reach the postseason. Given that “Yes” is +135 to make the playoffs, betting over 85.5 total wins seems a bit safer, despite the juice.
Mets Player Futures Odds
As aforementioned, bettors can wager on the Mets not only as a team, but also as players individually. Let’s take a look at the best Mets player futures.
NL MVP Odds
|Player||Odds to Win NL MVP|
The Mets really only have two players that are true MVP candidates in deGrom and Alonso, but with the star-studded National League adding Mookie Betts to the fold, this is quite a tough futures bet to place on anyone not named Betts, Yelich, Acuna, and others.
NL Cy Young Odds
|Player||Odds to Win NL Cy Young|
The current favorite of all National League pitchers to win the Cy Young is deGrom, who stands at 3:1 entering the regular season. Syndergaard is a longshot, but Marcus Stroman at +6600 seems far too low when you compare other player’s odds like Garrett Richards and Jon Gray (also +6600). Can deGrom put together another Cy Young season? DraftKings Sportsbook thinks so.
Home Run Totals
You can also wager the over or under on how many home runs certain Mets players will hit in the 2020 season. Let’s take a look at some of the Mets HR props. Keep an eye out for more players’ props, as they will be listed closer to Opening Day

|Player||Odds to Lead MLB in HRs|
Only two Mets are on the board for odds to lead all of baseball in HRs, but Pete Alonso at +1000 is a great bet. With his over/under set at 42.5, he is tied with Joey Gallo and Mike Trout for the highest HR over/under prop. With that said, Gallo is +900 to lead the MLB in HRs and Trout is +900 as well. That leaves Alonso at 10:1 a value, based on other numbers alone.
