New York Knicks: Brandon Jennings says he’d average 15 & 12 if he started with Derrick Rose

New York Knicks‘ Brandon Jennings never hesitates to say what is on his mind. Apparently, he thought better here.

New York Knicks reserve point guard Brandon Jennings fell victim to a little social media arrogance on Saturday night. Jennings decided to voice his opinion on the Knicks starting backcourt last night without taking his 153 thousand Twitter followers into account.

Jennings basically said if he started alongside Derrick Rose, things would be looking up — a 15 and 12 kind of “up.”

15 points and 12 assists for Brandon? Well, he does average 15 points per game for his career. Could he be referencing that? Still, it’s a little ambitious considering the way his shot is falling right now (36.7% from the field).

The assist total is crazy. Jennings has been a pass-first point guard for 20 games and he’s never averaged more than 7.6 dimes.

Per Basketball-Reference.com, the Jennings-Rose backcourt has played together for a combined 104 minutes and 27 seconds and they’re a -6 points per 100 possessions while sharing the floor.

Not exactly an argument for placing the two of them together on a full-time basis.
