New York Yankees Reinstate Aaron Hicks From The Disabled List

The New York Yankees have penciled Aaron Hicks into Tuesday’s lineup meaning he has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list.

Aaron Hicks is in the lineup batting second for the New York Yankees‘ series opener in Tampa after fully recovering from a right hamstring strain.

The DL stint was retroactive to Sept. 1.

Before hitting the shelf, the switch-hitting outfielder was hitting .213 in 112 games this season with a .603 OPS compared to the .721 OPS he produced in Minnesota in 2015.

Since Aug. 1, however, Hicks owns a slash line of .288/.337/.450 with a BAbip of .317 and four home runs. With the Yankees clinging onto their playoff hopes for dear life, the return of his bat could help the team narrow the 4.5 game defecit.
