Living legend, Jaromír Jágr, continues to defy age in quest for Stanley Cup with Florida Panthers; re-signs for one more season.

The future hall of famer, and current Florida Panther, Jaromír Jágr, will lace the skates back up for at least one more season in 2016-17.
Even at 44-years-old, Jágr led his Panthers in points (66) and finished second in goals (27) and assists (39). He’s also a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded to those who best exemplify qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Jágr certainly demonstrates that.
Currently 19 points behind Mark Messier for second all-time on the NHL points list, there’s a pretty good chance Jágr will finish No. 2 all-time. Jágr would probably have to play a whole 20 more seasons in order to catch up to Wayne Gretzky‘s 2,857 points.
We’ve often seen athletes stick around longer than they should, but in the case of Jágr and his young Florida Panthers, it’s been a fantastic fit for the both of them.
Considering he’s leading the team in points, and the Panthers are defending division champions, it shows just how valuable Jágr is and will continue to be. Whether for next season or beyond.
