4th Quarter
Take on a two-point conversion, with a Billy “White Shoes” Johnson sighting, and the Broncos enjoy a comfortable 24-10 lead.

Miller’s forced turnover led to this, the cementing of the game courtesy of C.J. Anderson:

Von Miller just cemented the Super Bowl MVP by picking up his second strip-sack of the night. This one came against Cam when the Panthers needed it most:

He strips Cam Newton again & gives #Broncos incredible field position! #Broncos #SB50 https://t.co/kq5LVFAGB6

Manning and the Broncos put up a terrible effort on offense, go three-and-out.
Broncos 16, Panthers 10 – 10:21 remaining in 4th Quarter
Gano converts his first field goal of the night as the drive stalls.
On third down, after a promising beginning to the drive, Peyton gets stripped in the pocket and the Panthers pounce. 1st and 10 for Cam near midfield.

The Broncos got to Newton yet again on third down to end the third quarter.
Broncos have 174 yards. Fewest yards by a team in a Super Bowl victory? 264, by Baltimore in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Unfortunately, Ginn Jr. couldn’t make a grab on a Cam strike off an in-route and it was picked off by Dorian Stewart. Danny Travathan made a sensational play recovering Stewart’s fumble:

What a catch by Philly Brown against not one, but two Denver defenders:

Broncos 16, Panthers 7 – 8:18 remaining in 3rd Quarter
Manning took control and drove 54 yards on 7-plays leading to another short McManus field goal.

The Panthers receive the second half kickoff and explode for a big play immediately. Newton finds Ted Ginn Jr. for a very flat post route that goes for a big run after catch totaling 45-yards for the biggest play in the game up to this point. However, Graham Gano missed a 40+ yard field goal off the upright.
Halftime Show
Well that was interesting. Not a bad halftime show, but remember this is coming from a guy who doesn’t get into the halftime show at all. So, it was probably one of the better ones in a while.

Manning makes his first mistake of the game. After a long rush by C.J. Anderson, Manning gave it right back on a 3rd and 8 while in field goal range.
Terrific interception bye the big defensive lineman:

Despite Cam running for a first down after breaking the pocket and tacking on another 15-yards for a questionable personal foul, Mike Tolbert gave the ball right back with a fumble:

Despite getting the first down on a fourth-and-one, a holding penalty was called and Denver had to settle for another field goal.
Broncos 13, Panthers 7 – 6:58 remaining in 2nd Quarter
Mario Addison of the Panthers might have just made the play of the game by tracking down Jerious Norwood on the punt return. #SB50
— Elite Sports NY (@EliteSportsNY) February 8, 2016
Jordan Norwood came oh so close to becoming the first man ever to take a punt return to the house in the Super Bowl. An interesting play all the way around as he didn’t call a fair catch and was actually interfered with and no flag:

Kam Chancellor at MetLife two years ago, now Luke Kuechly this time on Demaryius Thomas in a Super Bowl. #SB50. Could it turn things around?

Luke Kuechly just reminded Demaryius Thomas of Kam Chancellor from two years ago at MetLife:

Ron Rivera is now out of challenges only a couple minutes into the second quarter. He’s challenging a would-be sack (which it was), that will save him around 10-12 yards all together. Probably would’ve been wise to play on and save it for a big moment.

Cam and the Panthers responded like the one-loss team they are with a 9-play 73 yard drive resulting in a Jonathan Stewart 1-yard TD:

On second down, after a missed challenge opportunity on a Jericho Cotchery catch, Von Miller strip sacks Newton that results in a Denver defensive TD:

While Phillips never made a great NFL head coach, he sure does one hell of a job as a defensive coordinator. He’s taking away Olsen so far:

Terrific special teams play by Denver on a punt after their own three-and-out:

Cam Newton and the Panthers went three-and-out on their first drive. A run from Jonathan Stewart generated a yard. Cam then misfired to the sideline on second-down. And third down saw Newton find Greg Olsen over the middle but one-yard shy.
Panthers having to start in silent count. HUGE advantage for the DEN DL! #SB50

Denver received to begin the game and quickly established themselves up front. The offensive line dominated the Carolina defensive line on the first drive.
A 10-play 64 yard drive by Peyton Manning resulted in a 34-yard Brandon McManus field goal to open the scoring

There’s really nothing left to say. The game is upon us.
Super Bowl 50 is here, and either Cam Newton’s Carolina Panthers or Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos will take home the Lombardi Trophy for 2015.
The Elite Sports NY staff has already put their names to their predictions, as has most of the world. The only thing left is to actually allow the game to unfold before our eyes.
In any event, we’ll have an interesting story come to life.
If it’s the dominant 17-1 Panthers who take home the crown, a star will be further born in the NFL’s MVP in Cam Newton. Should the 14-4 Broncos get the job done, they would have repeated history in not only sending John Elway into the sunset the right way, but Peyton Manning.
