Can the Mets win their second game of the day after recording an 8-7 victory earlier on Wednesday?

After Tuesday’s game was mercifully cut short, the Mets and Nationals were set to finish the matchup Wednesday and then play a seven-inning game thereafter.

In the first meeting, Brandon Drury became the hero, knocking in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Following Edwin Diaz’s save in the ninth, the Mets earned the much-needed victory.

But the second Wednesday game awaits.

The Mets desperately need to construct a winning streak. With the Phillies playing the Dodgers this week (and losing on Tuesday night), the Amazins actually have an opportunity to make up some ground.

But can they? Will they?
