It was only a matter of time before the New York Knicks let go of David Fizdale and Knicks State of Mind weighs in on his failed tenure.

Here we go again. The New York Knicks are looking for a new head coach. It’s deja vu all over again and although David Fizdale came to New York bringing plenty of optimism, his tenure is that of another failed head coach. Knicks State of Mind addresses everything you need to know about this chapter in the organization’s history.

In fact, Fizdale’s coaching record with the Knicks (21-83) goes down as the worst win-loss record of any coach in franchise history. The guys discuss the factors that contributed to his rocky time as the figurehead of the Knicks.

Fizdale’s squad never established an identity on either end of the court which may have been his greatest flaw. Of course, the front office gave him a horrendous roster last season and, at best, a flawed roster this season.

That being said, 4-18 is too damning of a start for any roster. Moreover, a 44-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road and a 37-point home loss to the Denver Nuggets sealed Fizdale’s fate.

But don’t worry Knicks fans, the Knicks State of Mind guys didn’t let the front office off the hook in this one. Team president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry are now in the spotlight. If the team doesn’t turn things around under interim head coach Mike Miller, there’s no doubt who will be on the chopping block next.
