Newly-drafted New Orleans Pelicans center Zion Williamson signed a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand this week.

The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, New Orleans Pelicans center Zion Williamson, is already slated to become a star. He hasn’t even played an official NBA game yet. Not to mention, he only played a short amount of time in one summer league game for New Orleans.

However, he’s being hyped as one of the biggest stars to come out of the draft since LeBron James.

That being said, Williamson signed a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand this week.

“I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,” says Williamson. “Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to, and I really can’t express how happy and excited I am for this journey.”

Williamson is joining a family at Jordan that consists of 50-plus athletes, which include NBA players, NFL players, WBNA players, and more. The legendary Michael Jordan took the time to praise the rookie standout from Duke University around the time of the signing.

“Zion’s incredible determination, character and play are inspiring,” says Jordan. “He’s an essential part of the new talent that will help lead the brand into the future. He told us he would ‘shock the world,’ and asked us to believe him. We do.”
