By refusing to meet with any other teams after his Wednesday workout, RJ Barrett is telling us that he wants to play for the New York Knicks.

RJ Barrett is making it clear how he feels about the New York Knicks. If he’s available at No. 3, he hopes the Knicks take him. After completing a workout with the team, Barrett told reporters that he doesn’t plan to meet with any other teams.

“I won’t be meeting with any other teams,” Barrett said. “It’s this and then the draft. Hey man, if that ends up and I’m still there at three, sure, I’d love for them to take me.”

It’s unlikely that Barrett falls past three. There’s still a chance that the Knicks use the No. 3 pick to land Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans.

However, Barrett hopes the Knicks hold onto their pick and make him the newest Knick.

“This is the place I want to be so I hope they draft me.”

General manager Scott Perry deserves credit for helping to change the culture around New York. Barrett wants to play for the Knicks and there should be some significant buzz around the Knicks in free agency.

Perry’s presence and the hiring of head coach David Fizdale have definitely helped the Knicks to change their image around the league. Barrett was asked about his relationship with Fizdale. Although he seemed to forget that his first name is David, it’s clear that he already has a connection with the charismatic coach.

Barrett and the Knicks appear to be a match made in heaven.
