The Brooklyn Nets are motivated to beat the New York Knicks in free agency to superstars like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
It seems like basketball fans are going to get a New York-Brooklyn battle for certain NBA superstars.
According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets are very “serious” about beating the New York Knicks in free agency.
This will be a huge summer for players looking for a new team. Beginning July 1, players such as Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson and more will be free to roam the market.
Kyrie Irving is serious about the Nets — and the Nets are serious about beating the Knicks — and rest of league — to the biggest free agents in the marketplace, per league sources.

Woj also reports that Irving is serious about playing for the Nets.
On Tuesday, Stephen A. Smith of ESPN reported that sources have told him the Nets are now the favorite to land Durant.

If the Nets were to land both free agents, it would become a championship-caliber roster.
It would also be a shame if the Knicks were to get neither of the free agents. There was some talk that the Knicks could trade their No. 3 overall draft pick to the New Orleans Pelicans, who have the No. 1 overall pick. New York would essentially add a player as well in the trade for Pelicans big man Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis, Irving and Durant would create a dominant roster for the Knicks and would make them a playoff team without a doubt, barring any injuries.
Any team that lands either Irving, Durant or both is going to be extremely lucky. Both are generational talents and two of basketball’s superstars.
The bottom line is this: the Nets are motivated and ready to beat the Knicks to these free agent pickups. It’s going to be a fun summer to see who will get any of these athletes, including Leonard and Thompson. Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker will also be on the market as well.
