A Maximum Security bettor who celebrated his Kentucky Derby victory was quickly turned back into misery after the disqualification announcement.

Pain of this magnitude is nearly impossible to explain. Perhaps it’s as heartbreaking as a New York Rangers fan on the brink of the Stanley Cup Final watching Valeri Zelepukin’s goal forcefully stuffed by Mike Richter’s pads with just 7.7 seconds to go.

Maybe Zelepukin is amateur hour in comparison. After all, the Rangers did go on to the NHL Final thanks to the Howie Rose call of a lifetime.

The crushing moment in question relates to the 2019 Kentucky Derby.

First, the exuberance after a magical bet was won on Maximum Security. The fellas are jumping around knowing a stack of cash is coming to one of their own. The feel of singling out one of such a large crowd is one few understand.

But, of course, the thrill of the win was ripped away for the agony of defeat. The stunning disqualification of Maximum Security created sickness for our individual in question, via @WesleyDuBose.

Look at his face. The raw emotions are painfully genuine.

There are screamers, tantrum throwers, cryers and stoic reactions. All of us ooze a specific type of emotion when the worst strikes.

This kid, my friends, showcases the greatest of the quiet reflectors. He’s slowly attempting to process what had just unfolded, imagining the money evaporate before his very eyes.

Forget the actual Kentucky Derby results that were tossed on its head during the year 2019; the real pain goes out to all of the bettors who quickly moved from the thrill of the win to the agony of horrid defeat.
