Giants quarterback Daniel Jones discusses his Duke classmate, Zion Williamson, and the possibility of the Knicks taking Williamson.

Many New Yorkers are hoping that Daniel Jones is the first of two Duke Blue Devils drafted by a New York team this year. Although Giants fans weren’t thrilled with the Jones selection, Knicks fans are salivating at the prospect of landing Zion Williamson.

Jones was asked about his classmate at Duke and he acknowledged that they’ve talked about the possibility of both becoming New Yorkers.

“We talked a little bit about that actually this week,” Jones said. “That’d be a cool deal. He’s a special guy.”

If the Knicks snag the first overall pick in the lottery, there’s little to no doubt that they’ll draft Williamson. He has immense talent and unreal athleticism.

Oddly enough, if Williamson becomes a Knick, both he and Jones will be following in the footsteps of legends. Jones is literally going to be backing up Eli Manning—a two time Super Bowl MVP.

If Williamson goes to the Knicks, he will have the honor of following in Patrick Ewing’s footsteps as the first overall pick in the draft. Ewing was taken by the Knicks in 1985 and he will represent New York at this year’s lottery. The team is hoping he brings some luck.

New York is a sports town chock full of young stars. The Jets have Sam Darnold, the Islanders have Mathew Barzal, the Yankees have Aaron Judge and those are only a few of the young studs in the Big Apple. Perhaps Jones and Williamson are the next young stars set to take center stage in New York.
