New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale reveals that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade speak with some of the youngsters on his roster.
According to head coach David Fizdale, the two NBA greats speak with Knicks youngsters. He made the statement while on ESPN’s The Jump.
“LeBron and D-Wade having been talking to our young guys,” Fizdale said.
Fizdale also dove into the upcoming Summer of 2019 that looms so critical for the organization.
“[We’re having] a lot of conversations, a lot of angles that we’re trying to make sure that we show guys when they come in. I think we’ve got a lot of positive things to show. Scott Perry and Steve Mills have done a heck of a job laying this thing out. We’ve got the most cap space. We have seven picks over five years, which means whoever we do get, we can continue to build around them, and I think that’s a great position to be in. We did all that in a course of a year and we laid down our culture, so I’m really excited about where we’re at.”
Fizdale understands the deal; Kevin Durant remains the great hope. There’s enough cap space for a running mate as well but it starts with KD.
As it pertains to Fizdale’s former players in Miami, LeBron and Dwyane, it can’t hurt for Fiz’s youngsters to speak with a couple of legends.
James is currently watching the NBA Playoffs for the first time in what feels like a half-century while Wade is newly-retired. If all goes according to plan for the New York Knicks, young Zion Williamson will join the “youngster” list who take in advice from LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
