Ohio State quarterback and potential New York Giants draft target Dwayne Haskins has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Good news for New York Giants fans who are looking for a new quarterback in the near future.
Per Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report, Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins has officially declared for the 2019 NFL Draft. The redshirt sophomore will thus forego his junior and senior seasons at The Ohio State University in favor of some NFL fame.

Haskins is slated to be a first-round selection, and his accomplishments in one season starting for the Buckeyes proves it. Haskins recorded 4,831 yards through the air and 50 touchdowns this past season. Both numbers are single-season records for Ohio State. He also only threw eight interceptions all year.
It all led to a 28-23 Ohio State victory over Washington in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. Haskins completed 25 of 37 passes in the game for 251 yards and three touchdowns without throwing any picks.
Although the Giants have the sixth pick in the draft, there still is a very good chance of them being able to draft one of the best college quarterbacks in the nation.
Each of the five teams in front of Big Blue on the draft board seem set with quarterbacks.
The Arizona Cardinals own the No. 1 pick but they have their quarterback. The Cardinals drafted Josh Rosen out of UCLA in the first round of the 2018 draft and are currently looking to make him their quarterback of the future despite the rough start to his NFL career.
The number two selection is owned by the San Francisco 49ers. Their quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3 of the 2018 season and was out for the rest of the year. He’ll be looking to come back in 2019 and lead the 49ers next season.
Then there’s the New York Jets with the third pick. They have Sam Darnold from last year’s draft and have already shown they have a lot of faith in his play.
The Oakland Raiders have the fourth pick, and it seems like they’ll stick with Derek Carr.
Then lastly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at the five slot. They have more than one option at quarterback with Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
So it’s definitely possible. Maybe the Giants will be able to get their guy that will eventually replace quarterback Eli Manning when his time on the gridiron is up.
