It was the Summer of 2010. The place was the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, Connecticut, a hop-skip-and-jump away from New York City.

The specific choice scene for “The Decision” had New York Knicks fans in a tizzy. Could LeBron James actually be ready to blurt out the Knickerbockers as his next destination?

No.

And now, over eight years and three NBA Championships later, LeBron is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. But it doesn’t mean James hasn’t stopped torturing Knicks fans.

Recently, he’s doubled-down on his love of the Knicks famed home, Madison Square Garden.

Salt in the wound.

Sure, a young James turned out as a scared little kid by running to Miami and picking up two easy chips prior to his real triumph as Cleveland champion, but if he had done it in New York, forget about it.

It just wasn’t in the cards for this man to be the man for the greatest city in the world.

The Knicks will be at the Staples Center on Jan. 4. LeBron James won’t taste The Mecca again until Mar. 17 of this season.
