New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. believes his team can win out and make the NFL playoffs at 9-7.
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is very optimistic about his team.
According to Greg Joyce of the New York Post, OBJ believes the Giants can win-out the rest of the regular season and make the postseason at 9-7. Judging by the talent of the NFC East, a 9-7 record could also win Big Blue the division.
Is it ridiculous?
As a Giants fan, you should say no, because we’ve seen things just as crazy happen before with this organization. As for Beckham, the 2014 first-round draft pick is backing his statement up.
“When I said it, I heard a lot of chuckles and all that stuff,” Beckham mentioned on Thursday. “But it’s only crazy until you do it. That’s just the way it is. One down, we got seven left.”
So far, Beckham’s optimism is working, as step one was completed coming off of the bye week. The Giants went into San Francisco last Monday night and defeated the 49ers, 27-23.
It was their first win since defeating Deshaun Watson and the Texans in a Week 3 matchup. And once again, Beckham believes the winning won’t stop here.
“My mentality is going to be to win these last seven games,” Beckham said. “No matter who believes it or what’s said, anything like that.”
The Giants, at 2-7, will host the 3-6 Tampa Bay Bucs this Sunday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium with both teams in last place in their respective divisions. After that, the Giants will go to Philadelphia the following week to face the Eagles for the final time this regular season.
It will be a long and difficult path for Big Blue to make the NFC playoffs. Although, once again, crazier things have happened, especially with this very organization.
