With the Red Sox threatening to take an extra-inning lead, Cody Bellinger throws a dart to home plate to catch Ian Kinsler tagging up.
That is unreal from Cody Bellinger. With the season on the line, Bellinger comes up with a redemptive throw to cut down Ian Kinsler at home. Bellinger squandered a potential rally for the Los Angeles Dodgers one inning earlier when he was picked off at first base after leaving too early on a 3-2 count.
You always think about the big home run or the big strikeout in a World Series game, but you rarely expect to see a guy make a game-saving outfield assist. That’s baseball, Suzyn.
But now the Dodgers need to finish off the job or risk falling behind by three games. The Bellinger throw may have saved their season, but they aren’t out of the woods yet.
