New York Knicks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. explodes for 22 points in the first half in his team’s opener against the Atlanta Hawks.
Twenty-four minutes into the New York Knicks 2018-19 NBA season and the results are mind-boggling.
Setting the new franchise mark with 49 points in the second quarter, the Knickerbockers took a comfy 72-49 lead into halftime over the visiting Atlanta Hawks. The main man leading the charge for the young Knicks was Tim Hardaway Jr.
THJ poured in 22 while chipping in with four assists and four rebounds. His highlight play came on a beautifully executed fast break that saw the basketball not hit the deck once.
Defense leads to the best kind of fast break there is, the one in which the ball NEVER hits the floor. THJ finishes. #NewYorkForever @dwsmall8 @geoff_boy_ardee @ChipperMurphy @JBsWorld3286 pic.twitter.com/OgaR6vNcke

Earlier, he dropped two on a nice lefty drive prior to finding Trey Burke for the wing three-pointer.

With just over six minutes to go in the third, Hardaway has 24 points on 8-for-16 from the floor. Burke has 15 while big man Enes Kanter has chipped in 12.
Leading by 19 points, there’s been a lot to like from a New York Knickerbockers point of view.
