Tight end Rhett Ellison and placekicker Aldrick Rosas did not participate in the New York Giants practice on Monday due to injuries.

With a short week having to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, the New York Giants were back on the practice field on Monday a day after their heartbreaking 33-31 defeat at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.

But two players were not on the practice field on Monday as Rhett Ellison (foot) and Aldrick Rosas (right quad) were unable to practice.

The following players practiced on a limited basis on Monday; Jawill Davis (shoulder), Evan Engram (knee), Josh Mauro (groin), Russell Shepard (neck), and Olivier Vernon.

Head coach Pat Shurmur spoke about some of the injuries to his team and how his team is preparing for the Eagles.

A little bit of wear and tear from the game yesterday – Rhett Ellison’s got a sore foot, and then Aldrick (Rosas), our kicker, has a sore quad. We’re hopeful that he’ll be back, but I think it’s worthy of talking about. Evan Engram is coming back, it looks like he has a shot to make it this week, and we’re hopeful with (Olivier Vernon) as well.”

“Aside from that, there’s a little wear and tear. We went through our walk thru today and technically this is a Wednesday. When the plane landed yesterday, we moved onto Philadelphia, so we just had a walk-thru really. Today was Wednesday, tomorrow will function like a Thursday of game week, and then Wednesday will function like a Friday, and then the walk-thru on the day of the game will be like our mock game.”

If Rosas is unable to play, it will be a huge blow to the Giants as he has connected on all 11 of his field goal attempts this season, including connecting on a 53 and 42 yarder on Sunday.

The Giants desperately need Vernon to make his 2018 season debut as the team is currently tied for last in sacks with six.

If he can play, the Giants pass rush has a chance to come alive as the Eagles have given up 17 sacks this season.
