Enes Kanter is already talking about the New York Knicks’ chances to sign Jimmy Butler and Kyrie Irving in 2019. He’s optimistic.

Enes Kanter loves to give his opinion. He appeared on FS1’s “The Herd” to discuss the current state of the New York Knicks. The most important thing Kanter said concerned the team’s chances at signing Jimmy Butler and Kyrie Irving.

Colin Cowherd asks Kanter if he thinks Butler and Irving are talking about 2019. Kanter states:

“Yes and the Knicks have a really, really high chance to get them next offseason. I believe that and I promise that I think they will.”

Clearly, this is just Kanter’s opinion. He knows how players around the league feel about New York and Madison Square Garden. Simply put, if the Knicks are competitive with a competent front office and coaching staff, there’s no reason why Butler and Irving wouldn’t consider the Knicks.

New York is the biggest market in sports and the rabid fanbase is frothing at the mouth for a competitive team. The team that finally brings a championship back to Madison Square Garden? New York will worship them like Gods.

Kanter makes another interesting promise to Cowherd. Kanter states:

“I promise you, next year we’re going to put the Knicks on the map again.”

The 2018-19 season is going to be a tough one for the Knicks in terms of wins and losses, but it doesn’t have to be a waste.

A promising season from the young players on the roster like Frank Ntilikina, Kevin Knox, and Mitchell Robinson could go a long way towards enticing the likes of Butler and Irving to come to New York.
