The Kawhi Leonard saga keeps getting weirder. The Spurs forward was reportedly so upset with his team that he was hiding from them.

Kawhi Leonard is different. He’s very quiet, particularly for an NBA superstar, so we know very little about what’s going on with him. The newest Kawhi rumor is one of the strangest.

While Leonard was rehabbing his injury in New York, he was reportedly kept away from members of the Spurs staff during their visits to check on him. ESPN Spurs reporter Michael C. Wright spoke about the dramatic scene on the Back To Back podcast.

The Spurs are going to trade Leonard. It appears that they no longer have a choice. The Spurs believed that their franchise player should’ve been playing this past season as he sat out due to injury and they didn’t exactly hide their feeling about it.

Comments from Leonard’s teammates and head coach Gregg Popovich created an irreparable rift that the Spurs had never experienced. Kawhi is no Tim Duncan. The Spurs were spoiled by the Big Fundamental.

The Lakers were thought to be Leonard’s preferred destination. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports the enigmatic forward prefers to play with LA’s other team, the Clippers.

If the Clippers rumor is true, not only does Leonard want out of San Antonio but he also wants his own team. Away from LeBron James‘ Lakers. It’s similar to the presumed logic of James’ former teammate Kyrie Irving.
