The best player in the NBA didn’t waste a lot of time on his free agent decision. LeBron James is joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

LeBron James is going to the Los Angeles Lakers. Klutch Sports Group, James’ agency, put out a press release Sunday announcing the big news.

The four-year deal is shocking. James has made signing short-term deals his signature move throughout his prime. This signifies the fact that he wants to finish his career in L.A. The Lakers front office, led by Magic Johnson, did a heck of a job selling the King.

James had no doubt in his mind about what team he wanted to play basketball for next season. In fact, the next four seasons. There was so little doubt that he made his announcement on the first day of free agency.

This was highly unusual for James who typically likes to drag things out. We know he loves the drama. That’s one of the reasons Los Angeles was so appealing to him in the first place.

LeBron James is going to the Lakers. No way will sink in before you see him in that purple and gold uniform next season. On a related note: If you run an Eastern Conference team you’re doing backflips right now.
