Danny “Miracle Man” Jacobs earned the 34th win of his professional career when he defeated Maciej Sulecki by unanimous decision.

On Saturday night in front of his hometown fans at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Danny “Miracle Man” Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) defeated Macieji Sulecki (26-1, 10 KOs) by unanimous decision 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112.

We here at Elite Sports scored the fight 116-111 for Jacobs.

Despite having an undefeated record coming into this fight, Sulecki came into the fight as an unknown underdog but left with a ton of respect amongst boxing fans. The fight was a competitive one from start to finish and he never backed down, even as Jacobs was gaining momentum towards the latter part of the fight.

The only time the favored Jacobs seemed to be in control of the fight was when he knocked down Sulecki with a thunderous right-hand, seconds into the final round.

This was one of the more entertaining main event fights of 2018.

According to punch stats, Jacobs landed 205 out of 631 punches (32%) compared to Sulecki who connected on 143 out of 657 punches (22%).

Afterward, Jacobs gave credit to his opponent as he told Kieran Darcy of ESPN:

“Sulecki proved that he was a tough customer and belonged in here”

With the win, Jacobs is now the mandatory challenger for unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin’s WBA title. Jacobs fought Golovkin before in March 2017 at Madison Square Garden and lost a close unanimous decision.

For his performance on Saturday night, Jacobs gave himself a grade of B minus and knows he will have to fight better if he’s to have a rematch with Golovkin.

“I think there’s definitely another level that I can reach,” Jacobs said.

Whether Jacobs can get to that next level in a rematch against Golovkin, we’ll have to wait and see.
