Just when you thought the New York Knicks were done interviewing head coaching candidates, they added yet another name to the list: Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard.

The New York Knicks keep adding names to the list of their coaching search. According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, they plan to interview Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard. Ian Begley reports that the interview is expected to take place as soon as Saturday.

The 45-year-old has been with the Heat organization since 2010. He was a part of both big three Heat championship teams before transitioning into his current role as an assistant in 2013.

Howard is a well-respected figure around the league after 19 seasons with eight different teams. It makes sense to give a guy like him a shot. Especially when you’re considering David Fizdale, another former Heat assistant.

Fizdale received his opportunity in Memphis largely because of his work in Miami, and despite how things ended, he proved himself a capable leader. If Howard can follow in the footsteps of his former colleague, he’s worth an interview. Then again, with the way things are in New York, who isn’t?
