Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James congratulated himself for reaching a milestone that he hasn’t even reached yet.
LeBron James congratulated himself—his younger self—on reaching 30,000 career points in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“Wanna be one of the first to Congratulate you on this accomplishment/achievement tonight that you’ll reach! Only a handful has reach/seen it too and while I know it’s never been a goal of yours from the beginning try(please try) to take a moment for yourself on how you’ve done it! The House you’re about to be apart of has only 6 seats in it(as of now) but 1 more will be added and you should be very proud and honored to be invited inside. There’s so many people to thank who has help this even become possible(so thank them all) and when u finally get your moment(alone) to yourself smile, look up to the higher skies and say THANK YOU! So with that said, Congrats again Young King,” he wrote.
LeBron, you have just been assessed a foul for premature celebration. Why are you congratulating yourself when you haven’t reached the milestone yet? Don’t you know that you shouldn’t celebrate something until you’ve done it? It’d be a bad look if he doesn’t reach that milestone in Cleveland’s game against San Antonio on Tuesday night.
However, it is very likely that James will reach the milestone as he’s just seven points away from it. The last time he didn’t score seven points in a regular season game was back in December 2004. James has scored at least 10 points in 836 consecutive games, which is the second-longest streak in NBA history, according to ESPN.
The reaction to James patting himself on the back was entertaining, to say the least.

When LeBron reaches the 30,000 point milestone, he will join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Dirk Nowitzki among the list of players who have reached the milestone. He’ll be the youngest player to reach the mark.
