Toronto Marlies goaltender Garret Sparks makes two most jaw-dropping saves against the Syracuse Crunch that defy physics.
Welcome to the ice hockey save of the year.
As you’ve already seen from the video above, Toronto Marlies goaltender Garret Sparks — who does have some NHL experience — made not one jaw-dropping save against the Syracuse Crunch, but two.
The first one was so ridiculous that the entire Crunch team celebrated the apparent goal.
The Marlies are, obviously, the Toronto Maple Leafs farm team. (It must be nice to have the farm team so close in the same city.) And the Crunch is the Tampa Bay Lightning farm boys.
Sparks played 17 games with Toronto at the big boy level during the 2015-16 NHL season and led his Marlies to the 4-2 victory over the Crunch.
Both saves were so impressive that the second one could be labeled the “second best save of the season.”
