The New York Knicks come away with their first win of the season in a blowout victory over their division rival Brooklyn Nets.
- New York Knicks 107 (1-3)
- Brooklyn Nets 86 (3-3)
- NBA, Box Score, Final
The New York Knicks are no longer the only winless team in the NBA. They picked up their first victory of the season on Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets, 107-86. They shut the Nets down on defense, and Kristaps Porzingis led the charge on offense.
The unicorn continued his dominance with 30 points on 13-of-24 shooting and nine rebounds. It was his third 30-point game in four games this season. But Porzingis wasn’t the only Knick who stood out on Friday night.
Rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina put on a show for the fans in his regular season Madison Square Garden debut. He struggled with his shot (9 points, 4-of-11 FG) but his defense and passing were a particular highlight. Frank had five assists and one steal.
It’s just one game and it’s against the Brooklyn Nets, but it’s a start. Also, it’s important to take into account that the Nets were the highest scoring team in the NBA entering this game.
