NHL teams might battle hard against each other on the ice, but they come together to support each other in times of tragedy.
For over a year, the Las Vegas Golden Knights have been preparing for their first-ever NHL regular season game, tonight against the Dallas Stars. Unfortunately, they’ve also been dealing with the fallout from last week’s tragic mass shooting back home.
The NHL announced that all of its clubs and players will honor the victims at all-season-opening games. We saw that on display Thursday night in New York.

Both cities have endured their own unspeakable tragedies over the years.
Meanwhile, the Golden Knights will wear “Vegas Strong” decals on their helmets.

The Dallas Stars went a step further than just a having moment of silence, as they elected to also wear the “Vegas Strong” decals as well in tonight’s game vs. Vegas.
We would like to thank @DallasStars for reciprocating. Very touching to feel this love from our @NHL family. #VegasStrong pic.twitter.com/vAxde0ZgvD
