New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took to Instagram on Monday to post a photo of his busted index finger from Tampa.
The New York Giants are a flat-out disaster. Dumpster fire? Are they a dumpster fire? Well, probably, but only the obnoxious kids trying to be cool actually say the phrase “dumpster fire.”
After the team’s last moment loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, 0-4 is the record for a team many thought would contend for the NFC crown.
Something of note happened during the Tampa game, however, other than the team result. At one point, Odell Beckham Jr. screamed off the field with an apparent hand injury. We then saw the medical staff attempt to put his index finger back into place:
On Monday, OBJ took to Instagram to show off the picture of the ball busting his finger (above).
Yeah, it’s a rough one, something that all football receivers have had to deal with at some point in a career. But now everybody’s supposed to act like OBJ is tougher than the rest?
He’s always been a tough football player, a great football player. That’s never the been the issue.
The issue’s been him focusing on the wrong things, and guess what? Him posting a photo on Monday like this after a Sunday loss doesn’t help his case.
Is this our society today, posting photos of incomplete passes? If Odell Beckham Jr. is this hungry for attention, he’ll never quite figure it out and become as great as his talent dictates.
Here’s OBJ’s caption on the IG photo:
I give this game everything I got. Ain’t no way around it.
Why is he saying this? Why does this need to be said? Is he that insecure?
We already know this Beckham. Everybody knows you go all-out. Use your noggin’ and separate that from the “other stuff,” the stuff that’s not football and team related.
Only then will you completely figure it out.
