The new kids on the block, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, keep taking swings at other NHL teams. Today they went big, going after the most storied franchise of them all, the Montreal Canadiens.

After stirring the pot with the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins, Wednesday saw the Golden Knights set their sights on the Montreal Canadiens. The NHL’s newest expansion team didn’t start the fight—a Canadiens fan did.

Of course, the Golden Knights weren’t going to let that one go. Their response was something the Canadiens couldn’t ignore.

As has become the norm, the Golden Knights had to have the last word.

Ouch! But Vegas isn’t wrong. Of the 24 Stanley Cups that Montreal has won, 14 came when the NHL consisted of just six teams.

You have to admire the Knights attitude this preseason. They have scored 13 goals already and have two wins in two games. I am enjoying the friendly banter among the teams. Nothing wrong with a little garbage talk in between games.
