Rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina is a face of the New York Knicks before playing a minute of NBA basketball. He’s a part of the team’s new season ticket promotion and represented the team on Friday during a live Nike event. The press tour isn’t done for the 19-year-old. He spoke to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype about Madison Square Garden, his playing style, and the lofty fan expectations that come with playing in New York.

On the Garden: He got “goosebumps” when he went on a tour of the World’s Most Famous Arena and “can’t wait” to play his first game in his new home.
On his playing style: His mindset is that of a “team player” before describing himself as an “active guy who wants to give a lot of energy.” That’s what you want to hear from a rookie point guard. He also mentions that he likes to play pick and roll. Who doesn’t in 2017?
On fan expectations: It’s “exciting” and he considers the passionate fans as “motivation” to perform better. That’ll endear to the New York faithful.
It’s easy to forget that Frank Ntilikina is just a teenager. He’s just as well spoken as any four-year college senior who comes into the league. How he’ll be on the court at such a young age is a different story.
