Carmelo Anthony invited another star into one of his famous pickup games. This time it’s reigning MVP Russell Westbrook.
The famous pickup basketball games featuring New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony just won’t stop. Chris Brickley’s Instagram page is littered with videos of star players going head-to-head with Hoodie Melo. The latest is Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook.
Anthony and Westbrook were joined by Russ’ OKC teammate Enes Kanter and Knicks rookie Luke Kornet. In case you were wondering, Russ plays pickup ball exactly like it’s an NBA game.
This could be the first of many high stakes matchups between these two this year on the court. The two superstars could meet many times when if Anthony is traded.
Westbrook is aiming for a deep playoff run this year with the Oklahoma City Thunder after the addition of Paul George. Anthony is looking to get into that same Western Conference with the Houston Rockets.
If Melo teams up with Chris Paul and James Harden in Houston, he could be destined for a playoff matchup with the Westbrook-George Thunder. It certainly looked like a competitive pickup game today. It always is with Westbrook.
