With preseason hockey just a few weeks out, the NHL’s newest team, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, have been busy building some rivalries.
Rivalries are one of the best things about sports. When you’re a new team, you don’t have those rivalries in place. So what do you do? You find a way to stir the pot and create them yourself.
That’s exactly what the Las Vegas Golden Knights did earlier this week. And the team set their sights high right out of the gate, going after two-time Stanley Cup champion Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

If that wasn’t enough, the Golden Knights then introduced the man sitting atop their No. 87 power rankings, center Vadim Shipachyov, who had just arrived in Vegas.

The San Jose Sharks decided to join in the fun, boasting about the weather in northern California. “It’s not even October and we’re already up on the Golden Knights,” the Sharks tweeted along with the weather forecast for San Jose.

Of course, Vegas wasn’t about to take that sitting down and made sure to get the last word.

Ouch.
There’s nothing like a little fun before the teams go to work. Las Vegas is officially on the NHL map, and they’re just making sure everyone else knows it.
