New York Knicks‘ Carmelo Anthony broke his silence at a basketball tournament in Baltimore while Kristaps Porzingis celebrates his birthday.

It’s been four months since Carmelo Anthony has spoken to the media. During that time, the rumor mill has been out of control with various talk regarding his future regarding the New York Knicks.

Anthony spoke on Wednesday at The Basketball Tournament’s Day of Giving in Baltimore. He finally shed some light on the situation with a first-hand account of the events.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, the 33-year-old said that he hasn’t met with the Knicks about his situation. This says a lot about Anthony’s future. You’d think if the team had any hope of keeping him they’d have met with him already.

Per Begley, Anthony claimed he’s “at peace” about his chance of remaining with the Knicks. Even though he doesn’t know what the future holds for him.

The superstar referenced Phil Jackson’s firing as well, calling it a “business decision.” Not sure anyone’s buying that.

Finally, there was talk about the Houston Rockets however brief it was. With a smile, Anthony pointed out that he couldn’t talk about

After the firing of Phil Jackson, some believed Anthony would change his tune on a potential return to New York in 2017-18. He didn’t. The 10-time All-Star wants a trade, in particular, he wants one to the Rockets.

Joining up with Chris Paul, James Harden, and Mike D’Antoni once seemed inevitable. Now we’re at a point where the Knicks are playing chicken with Melo.

Wednesday isn’t just special for Melo speaking out. Everyone’s favorite unicorn is celebrating his birthday.

That’s right, Kristaps Porzingis is turning 22. Despite playing just two years in the league, Porzingis is already one of the smartest picks in franchise history.

He’s already accomplished so much at such a young age and if he can stay healthy there’s much more to come.
