The New York Knicks rumored interest in Alan Williams could be irrelevant as the Suns are back in play following news of their offer.

The Knicks continue to take it on the chin during free agency. The latest rumored target to seemingly slip through their fingers is Alan Williams.

According to Arizona Sports, the Suns have offered Williams a healthy four-year deal.

Williams, 25, would fit well into New York’s plan to find young players. If they are determined not to spend big money on free agents, then Williams would be a good way to go.

The Knicks were expected to have a good shot at Williams, a RFA, but according to Marc Berman of The New York Post Phoenix is back in play. After missing on Paul Millsap, the Suns have money to kick around.

The reported $5-$6 million a year salary wouldn’t take a huge chunk out of the Knicks projected cap room ($20 million). It depends on who they want to sign.

George Hill is almost certainly out, but a Derrick Rose deal might take up the remainder of their cap room.

We’ll keep you updated on the latest details surrounding Williams.
