According to Ian Begley of ESPN, the top free agency target for the New York Knicks is point guard George Hill.

Jrue Holiday signing with the Pelicans took another point guard option off the board for the Knicks. Ian Begley of ESPN New York reports that the team has zeroed in on George Hill as their top free agency target.

Hill, 31, is looking for a new team as the Utah Jazz made it clear they weren’t bringing him back when they traded for Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio.

Hill had an excellent season for the Jazz but was banged up and only played in 49 games. He averaged 16.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds on a slash line of .477/.403/.801.

If the Knicks could lock down the former Indiana Pacer on a two or three year commitment that would be ideal to help move along first-round pick Frank Ntilikina.

We’ll keep you updated on Hill’s status as free agency progresses.
