Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid asks teammate Ben Simmons to dunk on Lonzo Ball after the Los Angels Lakers draft him.

Don’t expect Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers to buy any on Lonzo Ball’s $495 Big Baller Brand shoes anytime soon. The two 76ers ripped the Ball family on Twitter Thursday night.

Lonzo Ball was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the NBA Draft. Lonzo is happy that he’s a Laker and will be playing in his hometown.

“I’m just thankful for everybody that helped me get here,” he said. “I’m truly blessed to be able to play in my hometown, and I can’t wait to get on the court. “Just had a good feeling, and changed them five minutes before when they was on the clock. I’m glad they called my name.”

Shortly after Lonzo was drafted his father LaVar was interviewed by ESPN.

“I’m going to tell you what: Lonzo Ball is going to take the Lakers to the playoffs his first year,” LaVar told ESPN. Come see me when he does. I’ll have another hat on that say, ‘I told you so.’”

After LaVar’s ESPN interview Simmons ripped him on Twitter by calling him crazy for saying that Lonzo will lead the Lakers to the playoffs in his first year.

“Crazy pills,” he tweeted.

Embiid then asked Simmons to dunk on Lonzo so hard that LaVar runs on the court to save him.

Lonzo responds by saying that what Embiid asked Simmons to do was funny. He also said that he has a lot of targets on him according to the media.

So why are Simmons and Embiid going after LaVar? Maybe it’s because the 76ers drafted Markelle Fultz instead on Lonzo. Whatever the reason it looks like there’s going to be a 76ers-Lakers rivalry now.

The question is will Simmons dunk on Lonzo like Embiid wants him to?
