According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, the New York Knicks are set to work out guards Donovan Mitchell and Josh Hart on Tuesday.

Right now, the New York Knicks are weak in the backcourt heading into the 2017-18 season. They’ll have to look for help at both spots in the draft. Two of those targets are Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell and Villanova’s Josh Hart.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Mitchell and Hart will be in for workouts on Tuesday. The two prospects couldn’t be more different. Mitchell is an athletic combo guard with point guard capabilities, and Hart is a pure spot up shooter with 3-and-D potential.

Hart won Big East Player of the Year at Villanova and shot over 40 percent from downtown. Mitchell was named to the All-Defensive team and was the star of the NBA Draft Combine.

Per Begley, Mitchell is working out for the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. They’ve become a strong rival of late for the Knicks. Not just for Mitchell, but particularly for Frank Ntilikina.

New York is also still considering Ntilikina, Malik Monk, and Dennis Smith Jr. with the eighth pick. If they were to trade for a second lottery pick, Mitchell would likely be available then too.
