With two days of the NFL Draft in the books, Jerry Reese and the New York Giants bring on a TE, DT and QB with still no O-linemen.

Evan Engram is a tight end. Dalvin Tomlinson (Country Strong) is a defensive tackle. Davis Webb is a quarterback.

Through two days and three picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, Jerry Reese and the New York Giants have yet to address the one spot on the depth chart that held them back offensively a year ago: the offensive line.

But that’s why he gets paid the big bucks and that’s why there’s a Day 3. In a nice and tidy order, Reese has four selections available to him on Saturday. Perhaps this is the day an offensive tackle is added to compete with the newly-acquired D.J. Fluker and struggling youngster Ereck Flowers.

Remember, when evaluating O-line play, Pro Football Focus grades aren’t everything. What the new age statistical company does so well is grade everybody on an individual level. They can’t account for the way Eli Manning makes his O-line look better than it really is.

Quite literally, Eli releases the ball quicker to his own detriment while at the same time allowing the O-line to grade out better in certain situations.

It’s an obvious problem that the O-line needs addressing in some form or fashion when Manning and the Giants offense literally faced a two-deep look on almost every play. Defenses laughed in the face of Ben McAdoo’s offensive line in the run game, daring them to run it against a soft box.

We shall see what happens in rounds 4-7. Create a formidable O-line and the offense flourishes to new heights, heights that one couldn’t dare dream of previously.
