According to ESPN’s Ian Begley and Ramona Shelburne, the New York Knicks have had recent talks with the Clippers about Courtney Lee.

The New York Knicks have resumed trade talks with the Clippers, but they aren’t about Carmelo Anthony.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley and Ramona Shelburne, the Knicks and Clippers have had ‘recent talks’ about a trade for shooting guard Courtney Lee.

Via Begley:

The Knicks have been seeking draft picks back in most conversations they’ve had with teams, per sources. The Clippers don’t have any immediate first-round picks to offer to New York may have to settle for a player or get a third team involved to push a deal through.

Lee has done everything they’ve asked him to, and he’s been a solid role player for the Knicks this season. The nine-year veteran was supposed to be part of a winning team, not a rebuilding project. He won’t fit in for the long-term.

If the Knicks can somehow acquire a first-round pick for Lee, 31, they should immediately pull the trigger.
