Former Knick Jimmer Fredette scores 73 during Chinese league game

Jimmer Fredette is back in the news with another high scoring game while playing in China for the Shanghai Sharks.

Former first round pick and D-league All-Star Game MVP Jimmer Fredette scored 73 points Sunday night for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Fredette was 25 of 49 from the field including 10 of 18 from three-point range and a perfect 13 of 13 from the free-throw line.

It’s not hard to put up points when you play in the CBA. Former No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley benefited from the soft defenses last season when he recorded a 63-point game for Shandong Golden Stars. In 2016-17, the star of the CBA has been Jimmer.

Fredette spent most of the last season with the Westchester Knicks of the NBA’s D-league. He made just two appearances with the Knicks before being let go at the end of his ten-day contract.
