Charles Oakley agreed that New York Knicks owner James Dolan is on the same level as infamous former Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
The Charles Oakley ban from Madison Square Garden may have been lifted, but Oakley is still upset at the man who set the whole thing in motion. That would be New York Knicks owner James Dolan. Oakley was interviewed on Sports Illustrated Now and had some strong words for his former boss.
When asked about Draymond Green‘s recent comments likening Dolan’s behavior as “a slave-master mentality” Oakley called Dolan a “control freak” and said he has “everyone at the Garden on pins and needles.”

Then he brought up the situation with former Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Oakley implied that the same thing would happen in New York that did in Los Angeles. Although he stopped short of calling Dolan did says he’d “rather go back to jail” than endure this type of treatment.

Dolan needed NBA commissioner Adam Silver and Charlotte Hornets owner and Oakley friend Michael Jordan to step in and fix things. It was an embarrassment to the entire organization.
Dolan would obviously prefer that this whole thing just went away, but Oakley isn’t willing to forgive. He might never be in that state again.
