Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has now been sidelined again. This time he’ll miss up to six weeks of action.
NBA All-Star Kevin Love is set to miss six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on his left knee Tuesday. The team announced the surgery was performed to remove a loose body.
Love began complaining about issues with his knee after Saturday’s 125-109 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Love, who’s averaging 20 ppg and 11 rebounds, will miss his first all-star selection since joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 in order to rehabilitate the knee. This opens a spot on the all-star team which will likely go to Carmelo Anthony.
Love is slated to return around the date of March 28, two weeks before the playoffs begin. The Cavs are already dealing with an injury to sharpshooter J.R. Smith, although he may return the beginning of March.
According to Coach Tyronn Lue, look for Channing Frye to replace Love in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
