According to ESPN.com, the New York Knicks continue to pursue a potential Carmelo Anthony trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kevin Love.

The New York Knicks aren’t giving up on a trade of Carmelo Anthony for Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Marc Stein, the Cavs are interested in Anthony but not if it means giving up their 28-year-old All-Star. Cleveland reportedly hasn’t changed their initial stance on New York’s offer.

Per ESPN, the Knicks are continuing to engage other Anthony trade favorites the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics. The offer on the table from the Clippers is laughable, and there are conflicting reports as to whether or not the Celtics are even interested.

If Phil Jackson is determined to trade the best Knick since Patrick Ewing, he won’t do any better than Kevin Love. Unfortunately, the Cavs know how determined and powerless Jackson is during these negotiations.

Cleveland doesn’t have any other assets the Knicks should want, but nobody knows what Phil is thinking. Perhaps an Iman Shumpert is on the horizon?
