New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony just laid out his most recent quote through social media explaining he’s thankful for “the hate.”
What in the world is Carmelo Anthony talking about?
From time to time, the New York Knicks leader will take to social media to allow his thoughts and feelings become known to the world. These Twitter or Instagram posts become cryptic messages who whoever he has in mind.
His most recent one came on Saturday with his team mired in a big-time slump.
I'm Thankful for ALL of it. The Highs. The Lows. The Blessings. The Lessons. The Setbacks. The Comebacks. The Love. THE HATE. Everything. pic.twitter.com/ST7Nbu2E5I

He’s thankful for all of it, including “the hate.”
What hate?
When situations become rough and players find criticism coming their way, “hate” is an often-used word to describe any detractor speaking the truth. Why is this the case?
Melo is receiving treatment that’s in line with an 18-23 record. He’s the leader of the team and will always receive the top accolades when times are flying high and the bulk of the “hate,” (as he would call it), when things are awful.
It’s completely ridiculous for Carmelo Anthony to describe these words as “hate.”
Can we please be allowed to hold our guys to a higher level? We believe(d) in Melo. It’s OK that we expect the world from him.
It’s not hate. It’s reality.
You and your team are not getting it done.
