Reggie Bush honors Joe McKnight with custom cleats (Photo)

Coming off the tragic death of former NFL running back Joe McKnight, Reggie Bush will honor the late athlete with custom cleats.

Current Buffalo Bills running back Reggie Bush will be wearing custom cleats in today’s game against the Oakland Raiders to honor Joe McKnight, who recently passed away.

Both attended USC, but the year McKnight arrived was the same year in which Bush left for the NFL. Despite not playing on the field together, the pair was still able to create a friendship over the years.

The current running back took to Twitter on Saturday morning to show the world the cleats he plans to wear in Oakland to honor his late friend (photo above).

The customized cleats feature a picture of McKnight in his USC uniform as well as featuring the colors of the teams in which he played for. The birthdate featured in the picture is incorrect but no need to worry, Bush has said that it will be corrected and ready for game time on Sunday.

Fortunately, this week is NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” which allows players to wear cleats related to certain issues that would usually not be allowed on the field.

The New York Jets, one of McKnight’s former teams, will also honor the late running back on Monday night with a moment of silence prior to their game against the Indianapolis Colts.
