New York Knicks fan favorite combo guard Langston Galloway is nearing a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

All signs pointed to the New York Knicks bringing back Langston Galloway. There was no talk of him and other teams. Only that the Knicks wanted to retain him. On a reasonable deal of course. Apparently the two sides weren’t able to work one out.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Galloway is nearing a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

It’s hard to blame Gallo. He’s going to get more money from the Pelicans and more playing time. They are in desperate need of guard help and after the Brandon Jennings signing it’s clear Galloway would be low on the Knicks’ depth chart.

Galloway plays good defense and can play on or off the ball. But as much as the Knicks like him, they can’t compromise future cap space for a fourth guard.

Langston Galloway became a fan favorite for his meteoric rise through the D-league and his penchant for clutch threes. He’ll be missed.
