The latest news, rumors and analysis surrounding superstar Kevin Durant as he enters 2016 NBA Free Agency.

Thursday, Jun. 30:

Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated has proclaimed, via one of Durant’s longtime friends, that Kevin Durant’s mind is 90 percent made up to stay in Oklahoma City.

“It’s going to take some sweet-talking to get him to pass up all the money he can get by staying in OKC,” a “Durant colleague” told Spears.

Marc Stein of ESPN tweeted about Durant’s scheduled meeting Thursday with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Per Stein, the Thunder are meeting with their superstar forward right now and they hope to get a second one in the Hamptons.

Durant plans to meet with his five other rumored main suitors before Oklahoma City gets their potential second chance.

Ramona Shelburne and Arash Markazi of ESPN reported that Kevin Durant’s meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers could include their Big 3 of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan.

They’d be pitching Durant on joining them. Per ESPN, Plan B is to sell Durant on next summer if he decides to sign a one year deal elsewhere.

Wednesday, Jun. 29:

As of right now, Durant’s meeting schedule looks a little like this:

  • Thursday, Jun. 30: Oklahoma City Thunder
  • Friday, Jul. 1: Golden State Warriors
  • Saturday, Jul. 2: San Antonio Spurs
  • Jul. 1 – 3: Rest of the squads
    • Miami Heat
    • Boston Celtics
    • Los Angeles Clippers

The New York Knicks are, of course, interested as well, but no legitimate meeting has been scheduled.

Phil Jackson and the organization have mentioned that they feel confident in landing a meeting with KD, while Carmelo Anthony has proclaimed he and the former NBA MVP have recently been in contact discussing things.

There are a number of optimistic reasons to think Durant will and should consider the Knickerbockers.

It’s that wonderful time of the year again for the NBA and their fans. Free agency.

Really, though, the NBA isn’t much without free agency these days. It’s The Association, the league that lives off of rumors and innuendo.

As it pertains to the Summer of 2016, nothing has changed. Well, except the idea of who the big fish is this time around.

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant is that big fish, and the fisherman are swarming.
